Costa Rica was a quick trip for us in February 2023, and we stayed in the southern part of the country. Riding 4-wheels in Jaco as well as Whale Tail Beach were a couple of our favorite parts. Here is a video of some of our time there.

Jaco and Uvita are both wonderful destinations in Costa Rica, each offering unique experiences. Here are some recommendations for both:

Jaco is a lively beach town known for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of activities.

1. Surfing: Jaco is a popular spot for surfers of all levels. You can find surf schools and rental shops along the beach.

2. Adventure Tours: Enjoy ATV tours, zip-lining, and horseback riding to explore the surrounding landscapes.

3. Nightlife: The town has a bustling nightlife with numerous bars, clubs, and restaurants.

4. Nature and Wildlife: Visit Carara National Park for bird watching and to see crocodiles in their natural habitat.

5. Relaxation: Spend time at the beach or visit the Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls for a more tranquil experience.

Uvita is known for its natural beauty and the famous Whale Tail formation at Marino Ballena National Park.

1. Whale Watching: The best times to see humpback whales are from July to October and December to March. Tours are available to take you close to these magnificent creatures.

2. Snorkeling and Diving: The clear waters around the Whale Tail are perfect for snorkeling and diving, offering a chance to see vibrant marine life.

3. Beach Walks: During low tide, you can walk out onto the Whale Tail and enjoy stunning views of the coastline.

4. Hiking: Explore the trails in Marino Ballena National Park for a chance to see diverse wildlife and beautiful scenery.

5. Kayaking and Paddleboarding: These activities are popular in the calm waters around Uvita, providing a peaceful way to explore the area.

Both destinations offer a mix of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty.
